Default Meteor I.D. and Stuff

Being a Newbie on the forum I feel sort of out of bounds being the first to post on this section.

I found what I suspected to be Meteorites a few times and convinced my self other wise. I gave them away calling them Natural Iron Nuggets and the what not.

After seeing this video , I have kicked my self in the hind end more then a few times.

This video is a bit strange but well on the way up the learning curve.

Any ways, here you are!

Jim

Yes this is gonna be my favorite part of the Forum, that is, if more people would post here!

I wished I lived in AZ or NM, the deserts make the hunt that much easier. The plus side of living here in North Carolina is relics are abundant, but meteorites are damn hard to come across.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I have found a few here in N.C. that I am sending, or have sent for testing already. They fit the criteria, including chondrules, magnetism, and density, also a few have pyroxene inclusions as well.

I'm gonna try and post pictures, so I hope this works.

By the way, those are two separate specimens. I am a moderator at Illinois Meteorites.com and I have posted alot more of my finds there, so feel free to check them out if you get time. There is also alot more examples there as well. if you would like to see some stunning photos, I recommend this site as well. Meteorites Australia Collection (Photos, Pictures & Images)- Meteorites.com.au

Anyone out there with meteorites, please post pictures, I love to look at meteorites. And if there is anyone who thinks they may have found one, post pictures also, and maybe we can identify what you got.

Rocco
