Default Clean/Replace Explorer II Grip?

I've been digging in some real muddy stuff lately, and the grip on my Explorer II is filthy. I've wiped it off from time to time with a wet rag, even very carefully run the grip area under the faucet to try and rinse it off, but I expect soon I'll just want to replace it. Anyone done this? Any good way to do it? Should I consider just pealing it off and wrapping with handlebar tape? Ideas appreciated!

Hi Doug, Yes there is a way to replace the foam grip. You will need to get a tube of some type that will go over the end of the handle and roll the foam over this onto the detector. I may not have it quite right but it is doable and I know there is someone on here that has done this before. Ok I hope this will help. CU later and God Bless.

JohnWPA has replaced his grip with a new one. I can't remember how he said it was done. He'll see this and reply I'm sure.

Hi Doug....

This is how Minelab techs replace the foam grips.....I had to replace mine and it's pretty simple! Just stretch and roll it on from the backside using a tube over the handle.....

Thanks guys! I'll have to order up a new grip and probably replace it once the winter season hits. I appreciate the input and support!
