Better to leave it as is. Then remove it to clean under it. Also you can wax, yes wax the bottom of the cover to help keep it clean...How about that...Buster......

I've heard that before, I guess as long as it's silicone and you don't miss any spots it won't be too bad, you'd probably need to slip something between the coil and cover to remove it though.
I also read recently, probably in one of the treasure magazines, that someone coats their coil with some type of, I think, epoxy resin and doesn't use a coil cover?? Interesting idea but sounds like more trouble than a cover.
