Default Field testing the Minelab Explorer II

Howdy,
I started today to mess a little with the settings on the EX II.
I used the accept/reject function and scanned the dollar, half, quarter, dime & penny for this detector to only lock on to finding coins of this nature.

I knew I may find some trash in my trashy yard but it wasn't much. Most of my digs were coins!!
I heard my thresh hold null (go quiet) of all the things this detector was discriminating out which was allot. It was very quiet till it locked on to a coin, then it was screaming :)

Posted below is a 1 hour hunt from my front yard and field.
I still have allot of front yard to hunt yet.
Remember: I thought I had hunted this yard out long ago with my XLT & 6000 di pro!

Part two of my field test using this custom coin program will be posted tomorrow Dec,31 2004

Default Field Test day 2

Hi,
Well, I detected an hour or so this morning but then the rain came down :(
It was another exciting outing with very good results. Only dug two pieces of trash today and the rest were coins! Also I am digging every signal with this program I'm running! The coin trash ratio is excellent!
I do plan on tweaking this program some more and will let you know the results. This pull-tab must have some copper or brass in it cause it rang out as a good target, my other pull-tab during air testing did not create a signal.

Remember folks, My house is newer maybe 1973 so no old stuff here. I plan on using this coin program at old homesites and I believe I will clean up on the coins!
During air testing I placed an old rusty nail over a coin and picked up the coin just fine.
This program saves a person allot of time in digging trash.
After most of the coins are recovered then one can go back over the parcel in a good relic program!

Jack: I used Whites all my life started with the coin master then moved on to the 6000 di and finally the XLT, their all good machines but after running the EX II with 28 freq and the iron mask I just love how it performs. John purchased the Quattro which is also a very good simplified version of the EX II.

I sold my XLT at auction for $700 and purchased it new 5 years ago for $652, so their sought after too.

I've been trying to buy the domain treasurequest.com for 3 years but can not get ahold of its owner, so I had to use the xlt on the end.

Do you guys like TREASUREQUESTUSA.COM ?
it is available for purchase.

Default Field test day 3

Hi,
Going to try out an old log cabin site tomorrow that is located in the woods behind my house. This site is mid 1700's. I detected it a few years ago and found a candle holder and a half cent piece minted from 1772 to 1784 it was minted in ireland.
I'll post my finds (if any) tomorrow

Hi John,
Yeah, I forgot to show you the brass candle holder. I use it here at the house as a candle holder....real nice seeing a candle burning in it!

Default Old 1700's cabin finds

Hi Folks,
Went back to this old cabin foundation and dug many relics. Most I have no idea what they are and the larger ones I left back there. Its about a 12 minute walk through the woods to get there.

As I was digging and iron object I found where they dumped their garbage which is my treasure!
I then shut my detector down and begun to dig down a little with my hands (no shovel needed, its loose dirt) and found some real nice glass ware!
I've attached pictures of the foundation along with some of the finds,

Enjoy

Pappy: could you find out for me the meaning of the design with the sword and eagle and where it was made?
