I just traded for a Minelab Quattro, i have a Minelab Advantage and love it, i couldn't swing an Explorer trade and the Quattro seems to be the next best thing, any opinions ? HH Bill

I have owned a Minelab Quattro for about a month now...and have only used it 4 times due to the inclement New England weather....I don't know how the
Advantage is for swinging all day, but the Quattro is a little bit heavier to swing than most detectors....I bought a "Swingy Thingy" harness and used it to alleviate the weight...and I felt it helped....My arm wasn't as tired by the end of the day.....As far as detecting goes...I'm still trying to learn the Quattro's sounds and what it's telling me....I bought "Mastering the Minelab Quattro" book by Andy Sabisch and found it to be much better to learn by than the manual......As far as finds go: My first day detecting with it I found a 1919 Standing Lib Quarter, 1918 and 1919 Wheaties and a 1902 Barber dime, My third time I found a 1917 Merc and a 1909 Barber dime....and the other 2 times I went to the beach and found a small amount of clads (I am still learning about beach hunting).......I would say that it is a good detector but I am not an expert with it yet....All I can say is if you can't trade for an Explorer...get the Quattro...it does have the same depth capabilities without all the bells and whistles of the Explorer........Good Luck and HH to you......... Sorry for posting this late , just after i posted the quattro trade i nixed it and got a DFX instead . I was debating between the two and got cold feet on the quattro, so the trade machine is in transit and should have the dfx by next week. HH Bill

Thanks Bill , i'm looking forward to using the dfx soon, it's in transit. I beginning to enjoy the challenge of detecting as in learning how to use complex machines and hunting difficult places. HH Bill
