Default Minelab Help

Hey guys I have only had a little time using my explorer. How deep does this thing go? Also how can I tell by the meter, is there a rule of thumb telling by the meter IE half or one quarter on the bar?

thanks all for the help,
sharpe00

Default My read on depth...

Hi! I just got an EX II this past week and have had played with it only a bit, but my take is that the depth meter is a bit relative. That is, it depends on the size of the item (including it's halo -- really noticable for iron objects that have really corroded) and the soil conditions. In general, the company says read the bar as about 12 inches, so half of the range is 6, etc. I have seen a lot of variation and have been in a wide variety of conditions in the few times I've been out. I've also had a lot of conditions where targets overlapped to really confuse the issue! I'm sure with experience, we'll get better at reading the depth...

Best luck!
Doug
