Default Sorry if this is wrong place !

I'm brand new to everything. I saw this show on the travel channel about treasure hunting. So of course I'm already going over board on everything. I bought a metal detector the other day called a garett ace. and now I found this site online. There's a banner above everything that says for me to post my first message in the introduction forum but i cant find it. again I'm sorry if I did this wrong.

Welcome aboard,Ghost Hunter.Anxious to see pics of your first finds with that 'ACE'.Is it a ACE 150,250,or Freedom Ace?The 150 and 250 are the latest(newer) and are excellent units.

Default I'm in way over my head.

Thanks to everyone who saw my first post of sorry if this is in the wrong place. Like I said before, I saw this show about treasure hunting on the travel channel. So I went out to this store where Isaw some metal detectors before and the guy there said the ace 250 was the perfect machine for me to start with. So now I'm trying to learn how to use it and also trying to learn how to do the internet stuff to. Like finding my way around here. Any thing you guys/girls can tell me will be a real help cause right now I'm still clueless. I turned the machine on and watched the video that came with it, but it doesn't work like in video. My ground is all clay and very wet, the guy at the store said the detector is going off because this model has no ground balance control, and offered to exchange it for a much more expensive model but I wonder if I'm being taken for a ride. I did find some things like beer bottle caaps and some screws I forgot to clean up after last years doggy house disaster.. But the machine seems to be going off alot and nothing is there.

I have an ACE 250 and it is one heck of a MD, if you take the time to learn it. I practiced first by burying items and going over them to here how they sounded. I then started hunting in my yard and spent nearly five hours there and it isn't that big. I've only recently moved on to parks and old houses. I just go by the sound and don't even look at the target ID yet. Just keep practicing and it will get easier every time. Good luck and happy hunting!

The ace 250 is a great machine. You may need to turn your sensitivity down a tad. Give that a try.

Default Im new too and sorry if its wrong place also

Hi everyone, My name is Debbie and I have been itching to do some metal detecting for a few months now. Don't ask me what gave me the idea. I haven't bought one yet but may do so today. I don't have alot of extra cash to throw around so I will have to buy a cheap one and hope it works. I am buying one from Pro Bass Shop here in northwest IN. I had it up at the sales counter the other day and changed my mind just as I was about to purchase it. My husband told me to just go buy it so I am. Only thing he says is there is not many places to use it at anymore. I will find some places and even in my own backyard. Why not? There use to be an old house here so maybe I will find a buried treasure of some sorts. This will be me when I find my first object, no matter what the find! I have been enjoying all the letters on this site and looking at everyones finds. Very interesting! Thanks for reading this. Debbie
