Default Newbie from Kentucky

Hello everybody I'm very excited about metal detecting and being a part of this community. I'm just a bit concerned about where I will be allowed to do it. How can I determine if permission is required. Also I have a Whites Prizem V and hope this will be a good detector for a beginner like me. I look forward to learning from you all

Default Welcome

hello and welcome to treasure quest. Whites prizm is a great detector. My husband has one and loves it. I have a whites spectrum XLT and a prizm II. My children have bounty hunters. I learned alot on this forum and one of the things Is ask owner permission before you hunt if it is private property. most parks, school yards and flea markets are open game. well welcome have fun and I hope you find lots

Default Greetings and

welcome to TQ Sandman. Your White's Prizm V is a great detector. Hope to see your finds soon. Check with your Parks Dept on MDing, state rules vary - some states require a permit and others don't and some require permits for state parks but not local parks. Anything historical is generally off limits.
