Default Got my new machine

Good Day Folks,

I just purchased an Ace 250. I was running a old Bounty Hunter but after reading all the success stories and reading about how so many people love the Ace 250, I knew I just had to have one. Sure I could have bought a great machine like the Whites MXT or even the XLT but I figure since I am new to all this, baby steps. Once I am ready, I will get one of those machines and give my ACE to my wife is slowly learning to love this hobby.

I took a few minutes and viewed the DVD that came with it. Took it to my dining room table and did the bench test to learn the different sounds. Then I took it out back to the yeard. LOL Yard yeah right. I live in Vegas and our yards are smaller that postage stamps. I have scanned the yard with the Bounty Hunter and even though it did pick up on the iron in the yard, mostly nails, and rebar chunks, it didn't do well because it was jumping all over the place. I took the Ace out there and set it to coin. Found two dimes, three pennies and a washer. I am going out with a bud today to some old 1939 residential pads where the workers of the Hoover Dam lived. The bounty Hunter just didn't work because I dug everything and there is so much iron and trash out there. I can't wait!

If this Ace is as good as everyone says, relative to the type of machine, I will be extremely happy. I will be reporting in with what I have found out at the pads.

I'm happy you recieved your new MD! I have an Ace250 and love it. Just know that frustration is part of the learning experience of any machine and you'll be fine. Sounds like you're already on your way, though.

Boy, I bet you find a bunch of old coins at those pads. Can't wait to see photos and hear about it.

HH and good luck!

Great to hear the 250 is performing already, Zendog. And it does nothing but get better & if you add the 4.5" Sniper Coil you'll work through the trash even better and increase your finds.

One question: Is the sandy soil in Vegas highly mineralized or close to normal? Just curious
