Question VikingRelics

Hello All,
I've always been interested in relic hunting...my Danish wife (descended from Vikings and Russians)--who I met in Greenland--always joked about it. Since I am stationed in Germany, I started to Google and lo and behold; a metal detecting site came up and I was intrigued. Being 44 is not too old to start a new hobby. Especially one that seems as rewarding as "detecting." My wife (Betina) thinks I'm being a geek, but so what--she'll soon be hooked as well. I am hemming and hawing over the Fisher F2 and the Garrett ACE250. Been doing some research and see positives on both counts. I can hunt WWII, Saxon, Celt, Roman, whatever; over here in Europe. What do you recommend? I have also been researching the laws of each country with respect to relics/permissions/etc. My profile picture was taken a couple weeks ago at an annual commemorative walk in Bastogne, Belgium. Took 27 of my troops to experience some history. Thanks for your time.

Welcome to the site bifweb13! glad to have you on, and thanks for your service!

I really think the Ace or the F2 will do you well. Good luck with the finds and the service, Beale.
