Default Detector For My Dad in Florida

I want to buy a detector for my dad . He has expressed interest in getting one and I would like to surprise him with one. He knows nothing about detecting and this will be his first. He lives in Largo Florida. I would like to get something in the $200 price point for him. Light weight and easy to use. I think he is liking something with a display. I am considering the Ace 250 for him. I have a M6 and love it , so I would consider the Prizm. Any input would be great.
Thanks All

I have the Ace 250 and the Prizm III, Both are good machines. The Ace 250 identifies the targets better to me. But have found good stuff with both.

I would check with our sponsors and see if they have a deal going on...You can get an Ace for about 200 dollars and that would be a good starter machine....What ever you chose he will like it...Buster...

That's a great idea, Key Largo I would bet would be a great place to detect!

I agree...either machine would work well....lightweight...cost reasonable....and well-proven.

Thank you all for replying! I would get him a M6 like I have, but he needs something lighter in weight. I have really heard many good things about the Ace 250.

I will have to look at the F2 . Is it about the same as the Ace 250?

The F2 can be had for $199 shipped free,it coomes with 2 coils, from what I hear it handles the salt /iron in the soil better than the ace will
