Default Composite Digging Tools?

Greetings, I am thinking about getting some Garrett composite digging tools because they are light and non reactive with my metal detector. A whole, big pile of dirt can be dug up and placed directly under the search coil.... I am wondering if they are up to the task? thanks, Stephen

Hi Stephan and welcome to TQQ

I use a gator digger, but carry a composite for scooping out dirt and running it past my coil. Alot cleaner and safer than using your hands. I wouldn't rely soley on a composite for heavy digging.

Welcome to TQ, I use a gator digger also and grab the dirt with my hand and check it on the side of my coil..If there is something there it will sing out... I am not too sure on composite tools except that I would think they are really strong...Happy hunting...Buster....

Me personally, I probably would snap it like a twig, then it would ruin the rest of my day. I'll stick with steel.

i dont think those composites are too good at actually penetrating the surface, so i'd try just digging with a regular trowel (such as a lesche or gator) and then use the composite to scan the soil over the coil.
