Default Roarin' to go...

Hello all hunters!
My Bounty Hunter QD II arrived today and I can't wait to hit the beach tomorrow! I ran to the park to test it out earlier. Found 2 pieces of foil. Pinpointing on a beep-beep seems like something that I obviously need to practice. I was using the md on All Metal mode, with high sensitivity. Any advice, tips, tricks would be great! My md came witrh a pinpointer (that I didn't use today, but I will use tomorrow). Any advice for that would help too.
Thanks!

Run that new toy as hot as you can in the drysand. Practice making smooth swings at a constant level without tipping up at the end of the swing. Work the towel line in the dry sand and hit it thoroughly by overlapping your sweeps. Dig it all until you have a really good understanding of what your detector is telling you. Digging bottle caps and pulltabs is part of the experience as you will learn to identify them with accuracy overtime if you dig them consistently. Always remember that the pulltab tone you walk away from could just as easily be a gold ring that others have walked away from as well, make sure that you're the one who digs it. No discrimination, sensitivity as high as it will go without falsing and stick to the dry sand until you have it mastered before moving into the wet sand and beyond. Hunt the areas where you think people would spend time, prime sunning areas, towel line, concessions, lifeguard towers, benches and beach volleyball courts, etc. You are hunting peoples habits as much as you are hunting the loot they leave behind.

Good Hunting to You,

BDA

Cash1977, read your manual and then read it again..It will take a little while to get used to it all, but you will get it down... I would dig all signals at the beach..it will bring a lot of trash ...pull tops, bottle caps and such, but you should find some coins and maybe some jewelry... Happy hunting and have a good time..that's what it is all about...Buster....

Practice the pinpointing in the back yard. I took a big ole piece of cardboard and taped coins, and some trash under it. Tried to find the items and also tried to see if I could tell what they were.

Get lots of time hunting and the rest will come, Beale.

You're going to love the beach, the only thing I would add is to get yourself a sand scoop if you don't already have one! Good Luck!
