For all you new hunters, if you are working a beach, GET A SAND SCOOP!
I'm sorry for yelling, but if you check out my album and see my first hunt (no scoop) compared to my second hunt (with scoop) you will run out and get one. They have some good ones on that fancy auction site.

Hey cash.. great advice....
a long handle scoop save you from bending over or kneeling to get the treasure.... a holed scoop is good for the dry sand, whereas an open wire type scoop is good in the wet stuff...... there are lots of sand scoop with lots of different prices.... do some research and get the best scoop for the price for your type of hunting JT

I bought my long handled sand scoop the same time I bought my detector, I'd be lost without it, now Buster needs to get him one.

Hey deefburger.....
you can put your coil underwater but dont get the electronics wet and dont raise it above level.. water can run down the inside of the shaft... and hit the electronics and then its over.............. jT

Yes I need a long handle scoop like "E" says....My little scoop is OK, but it's a lot of bending ...Not that I couldn't use all the bending...Still a long handle would be nice...Will work on that...One thing..It will have to match my man purse that I carry at the beach..."E" laughs at my man purse...But That serves a purpose too.......Buster.....
