Xterras are great machines, I started with the 50 and later when I could I upgraded to the 70, if you could afford it go for the XT70 right away.

with that amount of cash you should be able to get an awesome machine..talk to the sponsers and local dealers you could get a great acessory package with it also..

Being that you live in Gold Country and are pretty much surrounded by states that produce Gold.. I would have to say Get yourself a Xterra 70...

You just never know where you may end up MDing.. and it would be nice to have a machine thats sens to small gold...
