Also if I get the 70 at the moment I wont be able to buy a aditional coil for my machine. Will the standard coil work good enough for both the beach and land for a month or so until I can upgrade?

The 70 has 3 frequencies. The 50 has 2. The 70 has a Beach mode, the 50 does not. The 70 has automatic ground balance, the 50 is manual. The 70 has a 28 segment scale, the 50 has 18. The 70 has 5 noise canceling channels, the 50 has 3.

There are other differences but the bottom line is that the 70 will offer more versatility for hunting different types of hunting grounds.

The 50 is still a very good machine and also posseses the V-Flex technology but if you want to be able to hunt for a wider range of targets, the 70 is the way to go.

Steve has said it all.

I used to have the XT50 but upgraded to the XT70 if you want Beach use as well as land then go for the 70..............it works dry and wet sand.
Good Luck.

I really like my 70! The only coil I have used is the standard coil. Been using it for 9 months now. I seem to find some good stuff with it, Beale.

Yes the coil is waterproof. The housing is not so be careful with that. The only coil I know of that is not waterproof is the 5"x10" oblong coil.

Good luck to you with the 70, Beale.
