Default Heard of a Deeper Detector?

I hope I am posting this under the right forum...

I was in Arizona recently with my husband shooting nuggets and I saw several people using detectors such as the Minelab, Whites, and Garrett. Pretty much everybody was finding a few small nuggets but the people using the Minelab along with another guy using one I’ve never seen, a Deeper, seem to be finding the most and the deepest. The fellow with the Deeper said he bought his on the internet from Cancun or Campeche, Mexico (I can’t quite remember). I’ve googled it but the sites seem to be in Spanish or what looks like French. I did come across a Deepers website but my internet browser would not allow me to access the site plus again the information seems to only be available in another language. To be honest I like the price of this detector more than anything. Has anyone ever head of or used this detector before? I am completely intrigued by this detector so any information is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to TQ.
I think that I would buy a metal detector from Minelab, Whites or Garrett because if something goes wrong with it, and you have to send it back to them it will cost you more time and money to get it fixed.

Interesting detector. It is a Pulse Induction detector and that is possibly why it was seeking deeper. PI machines will get better depth. It is interesting that it has a discrimination adjustment. Most PIs (I must point out that I have absolutely NO experience with PI machines) do not discriminate well, if at all, but if you are normally looking in a fairly "clean" site (fewer pulltabs/bottelcaps than normal) and don't mind digging everything, you might want to consider a PI machine.

I know a few MDers who own both a PI and a VLF (Very Low Frequency, the more common type of detector).

Their comparative test results were VERY interesting.....

Some of the nugget machines are Really Pricey but they do go DEEP. Whites new TDI which is due out shortly may offer a more affordable solution as well as some discrimination ability. At $1,595.00 US that's a relatively affordable solution for the nugget hunter or relic hunter.

Cheers,

BDA

Welcome to the site! Glad to have you on!

IMHO I would also stick to one of the main manf. of detectors. Good luck with your choice, Beale.

$1800 is a lot for a relic or coin shooter but for nuggets, with the price of gold as high as it is, this machine could easily pay for itself.
