Cancun Trip

Hi everyone.
I'm new this site. I'm going to Cancun in Dec. and wondered if anybody knew about the legalities of taking my MD and using it there? I've already been told that it's best to break it down and place it in the luggage to avoid customs hassles. I just wondered if anybody has done this and what to expect down there?

NOPE, Haven't heard of any detecting from that far south yet but I do know they have detecting clubs down there. I'll try to find you some and you can get up with them. The last time I traveled with my detector they made me break it down...checked it out and put it in storage in the belly of the plane. They are really cautious of electronics devices now-a-day's...PAPPY

For the info and welcome. I appreciate the advice and fully plan to sweep the beaches while I'm down there (December). The resort that I'm staying at seems to be well situated on a point surrounded by water. Which means to me a good chance of some finds. Maybe a midnight run may be in order? LOL Anyway, I'm taking the camera and have some high hopes for a vacation of a lifetime.
