Went out again on Sunday and had more fun. We were invited to join an experienced hunter out there and he was a huge help with all sorts of advice and guidance. This time we went to a school playground and scored $1.16. Amazing how careless kids can be. They'll be more careful when they have to work for the money.
None of what we have found is junk to us. It is too much fun spending time out in the fresh air and sunshine. We never outgrew playing in the dirt. Maybe I'll take the other dog. She's old and stone deaf. |

Yesterday we went to another local school.
I suspect this area had been searched previously as all the targets we found where deep. It was still alot of fun and our trust in the Aces descriminator is getting better. Two Dimes Two Nickels Three badly corroded pennies Some Sheet metal A bitowire A Screw Two Pull tabs And what we think is a broach |

Glad to see your inspired. We got out yesterday for a short while and dug around in the frozen wood chips at the local school.. Total, 33 cents, wife found a 56 Wheat, a magnet, rhinestone earring not sterling, a key, .22 case, and a whole bunch of rusty nails and other assorted metal stuff. Total for the day.. Day spent out playin in the dirt together=priceless... Bob

Yeah, I really like our junk. I wouldn't mind the magnet but I'm holding out for a diamond tiara. Richard wants to know why your wife doesn't whine from the cold. I don't think I'm that bad but he claims the high, screechy notes hurt his ears. Oh well, another week and it will be spring here and the temps will get out of these wretched 60s.

Tell Richard, I married a country girl and they don't whine, least this one doesn't. <GRIN> She does't mind the cold as long as there is a reason to be in it. Would rather be in the woods with her horse and a couple dogs than shopping the mall any day. I got lucky and I appreciate it on a daily basis for the last 20 years now.
New snow here so it's back to research and local history for us.. Bob |

Don't let the city address fool you. I would rather chew my own foot off than go to the mall. When Richard met me I was covered head to foot in mud on an offshore research project. Richard and I are outdoor people ourselves and live for field work. That's why we like this new hobby. Richard works the thingie, he's the machine oriented one, and I classify the soil as we dig. The only difference is offshore work doesn't pay 14 cents an hour which is about what metal detecting had yielded so far I just don't think any temp below 80 is civilized. That and job availability are why we live in the swamps. Does my mother being a timber farmer count as walking in the woods even if she spends the time trying to educate us?
