I'm so new to this I haven't even gotten my detector yet. Ordered it today, and it should be here by the end of the week. Just in time to get some hunting in during the weekend. I finally decided on the White's Spectrum XLT after spending tones of time scouring the web for reviews and information. Seems like it will be a solid detector with room to grow.
I appreciate having a place like this to get information. Hopefully I will be sharing some finds with all of you soon. If anyone has any major do's or don'ts with the XLT for a newbie they would be greatly appreciated. It's like Christmas all over again.

Hey warsawdaddy. Thanks for the welcome. Waiting for the detector to get here now is worse than waiting for Santa when I was a kid. I'm hoping for good weather this weekend. It was in the 60's here in Virginia Beach last week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi VBHunter,
One of my favorite detectors. I have an Eagle Spectrum ,XLT and just got a used 6000 Di Pro Sl just to compare digital to analog. The XLT is a very versatile detector and has the capability and adaptability of the most modern coin and relic hunter detectors of today. The most never do on the XLT is to not get intimidated by all the settings as many of them almost never have to be touched. The best thing to do is use the factory Relic program as your base user platform and learn from there and dig almost everything and remember VDI#'s for at least a month or two of solid hunting. After you receive the detector and begin hunting and need any advice just ask and someone will respond. Good Luck HH Bill |

Bill,
Thanks for the information and tips. I see that you are from Delaware. What part? I have family in Wilmington, DE. Looking forward to taking the detector up there when I visit this summer. Thanks to everyone else also for the warm welcome. VBHunter

I'm from Wilmington , in the Town of Marshallton and around here when you meet someone your usually only one person away from having a common aquantaince.
Keep us informed on your progress and any questions just holler. If you make it up this way during the summer perhaps we could hit a few sites if you'd like. HH Bill |

Bill,
Small world isn't it. My grandfather retired from Dupont. We usually head up there a couple of times a year. I appreciate the offer. I'll be up that way this summer. I'll get plenty of practice in before then. That would be great to get together when I get up there. Lot's of history up in that area too. I'll keep in touch with you here on the forum. Good hunting!
