Default Turning finds in to cash?

Hi all! My name is Sabrina, I live in Southern Indiana, and I am new to metal detecting. I got hooked a couple of weeks ago, and I absolutely love it.

One thing that I am still trying to figure out, however, is whats a hunter to do some a gold or silver jewelry find that they'd rather sell than keep...? What is the best approach? eBay? Pawn Shops? Classified ads? Who has had the best luck where?

Of course, my first finds have only amounted to a miniature iron horse shoe, a 1920s nickle and a 1940 penny (among pull tabs and nails) - but a gal can dream about raking in some rings, right?? :) Tomorrow I am going hunting along the beach at a local lake.

Thanks for the advise all... you're great for helping us newbies out!

Default Rings And Stuff

SABRINA, First of all...WELCOME to the FAMILY here at TREASUREQUEST. You will probably find that after you start finding rings and the such you will want to keep them if they are not returnable to the owners. BUT if you wish to get rid of them you can always put them on the Treasurequest Auction.
Looking forward to you post's and pic's. ENJOY you new found hobby and if we can help...JUST HOLLER...PAPPY

Those are good suggestions and when you get too many of those gold rings that are not saleable (scrap) you can also send them into a refinery for a decent return.

suggest that you do some research before selling anything!
