Default Noob Hello and Questions

First...Hello!

I just started MD yesterday and completely enjoy it!!! I've mangage to learn a few lessons already (later) and found 19 cent, four metal cars, three dog tags (animal), and 2 keys. I live in on-base housing and currently the base is building new houses, leaving about 150-200 empty ready for demolishing. The 4-plexes were built in the early to late 60's and averaged about 10 families, per, over time. I'm hoping to find some good digs...thoughts?

Learned lesson 1 - Detecting around pavilions isn't the best idea (at least for me so far, scored numerous bottle tops)..lol.

Learned lesson 2 - Don't pry stuff with screwdrivers, two things happen, 1st you learn the taste of dirt and 2nd screwdrivers aren't as strong as you would think!

Serious though I would like thoughts on where, I think (old and previously occupied by many families), is a good place to MD.

Logmod...a.k.a. Marty

Did good today, found 1.36 in change, a gamer token, a spoon, bullet casing and an old water nozzle spout, all in one yard. These old housing units must have more...

Thanks Pappy!!!!

I'm up to $3.76 in change (4 days hunting), so far...

A few wheaties, some quaters (early 60/70's) and too many pennies.

The quarters seem pinkish in color, does anyone have any stories of the same ground mineralization or is this normal?

Thanks
Marty
