I've just been reading this forum for a few days. I wanted a metal detector after getting interested in old coins. I am impressed with the members' finds.

I went with a Garrett Ace 250 based on some of your recommendations and its price range.

I ordered it through a local dealer and might get it as early as tomorrow.

Hopefully, I will be posting some neat finds.

I bet you guys that have been detecting for a long time were glad to see the old pull tabs phased out into the current style of aluminum can tabs.

Do you ever collect the old pull tabs for the recycler? A friend of mine in college years ago claimed that a full gallon container of pull tabs would sell for around $50-$75. I never confirmed this and don't drink much from aluminum cans. But, if I'm going to be digging them up, I might as well profit from them. Plus the price of aluminum is climbing with the other metals.
