Default The new guy checking in

Just wanted to pop in and say "howdy". I'm from NC near Chapel Hill (Go Tarheels). I've been lurking for a week or so. Some stuff was posted on another forum that I'm a member of about MDing and I've always had an intrest in this, but never been able to try it out. After seeing all the fun you guys are having I decided I had to try it. Ordered myself an ACE 250 from Kelleyco. It should be on the porch when I get home today. As soon as I get it up and running I plan to check out my yard. Wish me luck.

Welcome to MD'ing and to the TreasureQuest Family. There are a lot of great people here. My friend has an ACE250, in fact there are a number of people here on TQ that have it and love it.

Hello. I am also new here. Welcome! I am relocating to New Bern, NC. at the end of this month. I am also going to get (from the advice I recieved here) a Ace250. Good luck with yours, who knows you could retire after you look in your front yard!

Well I got to try out my new ACE 250 this weekend. First I tried it ou in my backyard, but didn't find anything much, some nail, junk, etc. Decided to go to a spot that had mill house on it back in the 1920's. Very over grown with weeds, trees, brush. The only interesting thing I found was a tooth from a dog (I think). Still can't believe that it found that. Waved it by the coil seaveral times to be sure. I didn't have much time there and I'm sure there's more there. But I think I'll save that spot for when I get more experince. I think I'l try some parks till I get a little more used to it.

Welcome Fruitbat and you too Diggins. You have come to the best place on the net. Diggins, you are moving into my neck of the woods as well as several other MDers on here. Maybe you can join us some time. All the guys I have met from the area have been a pleasure to dig with and are always willing to help out if you need advice. Just get in touch.
