i got miss john a 3300 to take down to south america. i used it about 6-9 times. a little eractic in the soil here but turned down the sen. and it was better. she has done real good with it. but i would do a test garden. i found it will lock on 1c 10c 25c real good but alot of deapth it starts acking up. like a rusty nail. just pratice with it. the vdi is 00 -199 so it bounces some if it locks good change your angle and check it. like i said i only used it 6-9 times. so practice and practice. dig everything. you will learn it.

Welcome, Catfishing.
I have had my BH 3300 for about a month now and have found 127 coins with it. Mostly newer ,clad stuff but a few weaties , a 1901 Indian head and a 1928 Mercury dime. Also a couple of silver rings. I have been hunting parks and schools that have been hunted many times over the years. Read and reread the owners manual. It will tell you a lot.
My advice would be to run it on full discriminate untilyou get used to it . You will dig a lot less junk that way. Also when you are pinpointing you can adjust the ground balance knob while you are locating the target.
Just adjust it while over the target to get the faintest signal and it is easier to get a near exact location. Good hunting. Merf

Catfish, One thing I forgot to mention. Get some headphones to use with the 3300. They are essential to hear the different tones and faint signals. Merf
