Talking Newbee in SW PA

Hey, everyone! Just got a White's Prism 4, today. Totally new and have a lot of mineral around where I live, due to the coke and steel production in the past. I did, however, find a 1981 dime, a wiring butt splice, a chunk of SOMETHING. lol There are a lot areas around me that should be quite bountiful, due to the French and Indian War and Indian settlements that I've heard of. Anyone else in the area, feel free to contact me, I'd love to pick up any pointers or accompany you on a search. I've previously been into Geo-caching for about 4 years and will probably try to combine the two.

I'm on the South East side of Pittsburgh, about 60 miles or so....about 10 miles from 7 Springs Ski Resort. Originally, I'm from up in Elk County, though. Lots of areas to search up there, from logging camps, old railroad grades, etc. There's even an old story from Pennsylvania Profiles that used to run in the papers, that a man robbed a bank and contracted pneumonia and had to bury it before going into town, where he died. Nobody has ever found the money, as far as anyone knows. That's up in the Kinzua area.

Well, what I consider my hometown area is Johnsonburg/Wilcox/Rasselas area. Have you ever been to the East Branch Dam? It used to be a town called Instander. When they let the water out of the dam, low enough, you can still see the concrete foundations and re-bar. My Grandfather's brother used to go search the flats, after the water level came down enough. Not sure if he ever found much of anything but I know from experience that there should be many keys, coins, eyeglasses, etc. that people lose while on a boat. lol I'm thinking of hitting the Kinzua bridge area this weekend.

Have they removed any of the debris? Now, according to the stories you've heard about the robber story.....isn't it supposed to be in the Northwestern corner, in sight of the bridge? Now, anyone that knows the bridge area, knows that can cover a LOT of territory. Has anyone found ANYTHING that you know of?
