Happy New Year to all,
I have been on the fringe reading the posts and like what I read. A great group of folks on here, and helpful too.
I got a Bounty Hunter 505 last November and have tried it out some on a few points of interest. My first Mercury Dime (1944) came out of the Stanislaus River yesterday.
My four days of hunting have netted me:
1 Mercury Dime
2 Wheat cents
1 Kennedy Clad
$6 in quarters
$4.50 in dimes
85 cents in pennies
4 Gaming tokens
1 Copper Door Knob
1 Axe head
(countless beercans)
Still figuring the settings out on the Bounty Hunter but basically digging about everything just to find out.

I hit three Points of Interest:
1 is a little fairground, the other an old park and the third is on a river may have been a swimming hole or a place church goers went for baptisms.

Sounds like you have the Bounty Hunter 505 settings down pretty good
I followed the manual and video closely, made a few mistakes but still feel it could do better if I "dialed it in" I don't quite get the ground track mode but I will figure it out in time.
Pretty robust little machine for the price and works underwater like the manual stated. The Merc dime I pulled out of the river mud was about 2 or 3 inches down and 3 or 4 inches under the water, the tones latched on immediately and never let up.
