Angry Newbie from Alabama Need some input !

Nice to join you guys, i have been doing some prospecting here in alabama for awhile. but now i just got some mapping software and a gps, there is alot places like old gold mines and prospects in the mountains i want to search, seems like detecting the old digs and around the old piles of rocks and dirt would be great. My question is i have a low budget and would like to take my 10 yr. old with me wouldnt mind getting something we could both use and then later moving up to get me one. Gold would be primary but relics and coins a close second. any help would be great his b'day is end of january For some reason i seem to be invisible on this forum some posts after mine have numerous replies while mine has zero ohwell

Tiger4life sooo sorry if you have been over looked. This is a hobby that you and your son would enjoy doing together. I have an Ace 250, its a great machine and easy to use, the price range is very reasonable, around 200 dollars. I'm sure someone on here could help you with your questions about what detector is best for you.
Good Luck

Let me add my welcome to the list. Not sure how you got over looked. This forum is one of the friendliest around. Glad you said something instead of just stewing about it. I know it was not intentional. Welcome and post often. JoAnne

Welcome Tiger and you have come to a great forum. TQ is the best Treasure forum around. Going by what your post says Tiger I want to recommend the Tesoro Lobo Supertraq. But since your limited right now the ACE 250 would be a great start. If I can be of any help to you and your Son then drop me an email. God Bless.

Hey Tiger4life: Welcome!!!!

I'm new here, too, and must say, after participating at various forums for close to 2 years, I have found TQ to be unbelievably friendly and helpful.

I'm here to stay ; hope you are, too!!!!

Thanks alot guys and gals I was starting to get a complex I'm glad to get a responce, It's tough trying to figure out all this MD stuff. My grandfather had a old whites MD, i think thats right but it never really worked that great. Would any one know if nuggets could be found in the gold belt of Alabama? I know theres gold i pan out color in the streams but really want to find the nuggets And again thanks alot I knew that it was just a over sight or glitch, after i read your guys feed back went out and bought the 250 it is the best looking one, thank goodness i didnt buy the one i found for 45.99 it was cheap but most likely a waste. I did look at the teraso (SP?) but that is so far out of my budget the wife would of killed me. I'll save up for that one.

Any one from Alabama or familiar with the area would be great!
