Default Hello from Colorado!

Hello everyone,

I am very new to MDing and have been scanning through these pages in an effort to glean as much knowledge as possible before asking my "dumb questions".

I am awaiting the arrival of my new White's MXT, Koss noise-cancelling headphones, Bullseye II pinpointer, Lesche digging tool and Eclipse DD 1400 coil. My only hesitation in this equipment list is with the Bullseye. I have been reading that they are a bit fragile, and I may just replace it with something sturdier before I even use it.

I just finished reading Michael Chaplan's book about urban treasure hunting and I am now reading one about the history of gold prospecting in the United States.

We have so much snow on the ground here that I have completely forgotten what grass and dirt look like, so I guess that my new MD will not see any action for quite a while yet. Grrrr!

Well, I just wanted to say hi!

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome JoAnne, Boobie and Chuck.

Chuck, I am in Highlands Ranch. Interesting that you are so close by. Being completely clueless, I may have to call on your local expertise fro time to time.

I have some ideas on where to hunt, but I certainly want to avoid stepping on any toes in the process. One question that I have been unable to answer through the state parks website is whether MDing is allowed within their faclilities with permission, without specific permission or not under any circumstances.

Thanks again!
