Default having fun

me and my son have really been hitting the sites. there are five different grade schools in our town and we have been to 3 so far. we found our first wheat at one of them. my son pinpointed it and i dug down about 5 inches and after poking the pinpointer around for a bit we finally hit it. it was our first real find. we have found alot of clad coins but only one wheat. we have not been to any old sites yet. we have some that we can go to but i want alot of practice first. we have also hit several soccer fields and parks. my son likes to go out at night in our front yard to hunt. i can't believe how many coins he has found in our yard. i usually go out with him and take a flashlight and we have had alot of fun in our own yard. i have several friends that live on old home sites that will let us hunt there. i don't want to start until we get somewhat good a pinpointing. i want to do the least amount of yard damage as possble. we have had alot of fun bass fishing the past several years, but this metal detecting seems to be more fun. we don't expect to find gold coins or any gold treasure, but we are hoping for some indian heads, silver quarters, barber and merc dimes. i think those goals are realistic.

Your goals are realistic for sure. What is really nice is the fact that you and your son are enjoying it together.
Between bass fishing and treasure hunting you two sure are bonding in a wonderful manner.
Congratulations.

You have something very special with your son.... He will never forget how his Dad is also his Buddy. Your goals sound right on the money, pardon the pun....the best part is your both are having fun doing what both like.

Default Fishin is fishin

Bass fishin' or dirt fishin' as long as you are hanging out with your son and having fun is what it is all about. Good luck hitting all your goals and then some.
