Default Just starting out in NH

Hey folks, i've had my detector for about 5 years now, but i've never used it. I moved to an old area of new hampshire, and in the process of looking for new hobby that wouldn't break my budget i remembered my Tesoro Cortes that's been in a box since i lived in the city. As i've not actually used it, could someone point me in the right direction to find good newb info on using this detector? Also, since it is pretty old, do you all think i should upgrade to a newer model or is this Cortes gonna be ok for me?

Thanx in advance.

Welcome NhDriller: You've got a great detector there in the Cortes; almost bought one myself. Can't really help you with machine specific tips, though, but I'm sure there are some here who know the Cortes and will help you get rolling.

Hi and welcome to the TQ site! I have a Whites XLT so can't help with to many questions regarding your machine. If it is only 5 years old then it should still be a great machine. There will be alot of people here that should be able to help with any specific questions you may have. Good luck and have fun with it. Bill

Thx everyone for the warm welcome................now if i could only get some warm weather i'd be all set ..........just bought a home that is over 200 years old, and has had the same owners for the last 65 years...........talked to thier son and found out that this property hasn't been detected in at least as long as he's been alive, so i got high hopes for the spring.
