Hi there! I was so pleased to find this site! I am VERY new to metal detecting-so new, that I don't even have my detector yet! lol... It should come within a few days, and my hubby and I are very excited! After doing a bit of reading online, we ordered a Garrett Ace 250....(supposed to be a good one for beginners....I hope!)

We are homesteaders, living on 50 acres, and we have a herd of goats, who we take out to browse and graze for hours on the nice days. I have always loved "treasure-hunting," (ever since I found a beautiful arrowhead when I was about 8 years old.) Well, we decided to get a metal detector so that we can use that in our fields and woods, while the goats stuff their gullets, instead of just sitting in the woods watching them! (Though that is fun and always makes us laugh...lol)

We are looking forward to exploring this website, and also looking forward to "meeting" you!!!!!

Thanks, folks, for your nice welcome! I must tell you, Indy, that one of our beloved Alpine goats has the same name as you!! (Her name was Independence when we bought her, but we shortened it to Indy, as Independence is too much of a mouthful when you are calling a bunch of them by name... with names that long, we would be hollering to them all day long, and would probably not be able to find time for metal detecting! )

Anyway, I have been poking around this site.. enjoying it!!! Thanks again for the welcome!
