In the original post you mentioned not finding anything of value. Value is not realy relevent. When I go hunting I go for pop tops and beer cans. I have never been dissapointed. There is also the value to the environment.
I like to look around volly ball courts and playgrounds. All the pieces of broken cans, pop tops, nails, pieces of wire etc, have a huge value when you think of some kid in bear feet stepping on that item.
Lets not forget the view, the walk through the woods, down the beach or across the field. How about the ride you took going to the search area, the friendships you have made and the excitement of finding anything. That is all valuable too.
I would have to count the change and jewlery in pounds, but the other things are much more valuable. The money just keeps me in machines, sodas and batteries.
