Default hey guys

hello everyone, greetings from sierra vista, arizona. i have recently bought a detector called the MD7030 Discriminator and have only begun in this exciting field. i hope my purchase wasn't unwise allthough i confess it may have been hasty. i havent a clue as to what i'm doin with this thing, but i have been digging up lots of junk in my yard...so far nothing of any value yet. can ya'll tell me if this detector is any good?it seems to have the necessary capabilities of a decent detector so i think i made a good buy.I got it for a hundred bucks at the local Big Five sports store. Since i am only a beginner i think that i should be ok for now but i will definately be looking for something better in the future.i think im addicted to this hobby already! i live only a coyote fart away from the infamous Tombstone, AZ and other neat places with great military history and am excited at the prospects i have here. Also there is a place where they say there is gold up in the closest mountain. There are actually a few claims up there. So anyways i hope ya'll welcome me into yer club here and am looking forward to some good guidance from some experts. Cant wait to here from ya's. Respectfully...Cory aka-schoser

Default Welcome Schoser

To TQ. I'm not familiar with your detector either but It is finding stuff even if it's junk & for the price I'm sure you'll be OK. Read your manual & Practice Again & Again & Again and things will come. Sounds like You have alot of great sites to check out. When Your ready to Upgrade, Talk to the Sponsors here at TQ. They can really help you out trying to decide what kind of detector will be right for your detecting needs & you'll get Plenty of Support from them & the Members here at TQ. Good Luck & HH.

Hi Cory and welcome to TQ. This is a great place to be and someone is always willing to help. Your MD7030 is from Famous Trails. It is a low level beginners model. I would put it to good use and when you get comfortable using it and feel you want to move up then there are many excellent brands to be had. Just don't get frustrated with it. So if I can help you out Cory and answer your questions and give you some tips and tricks just PM or call me. God Bless and happy hunting Cory.
