Default Greetings to All!

Hi Everyone,
I am a 60 year old grandfather who has worked in electronic engineering for 35+ yrs and is interested in all things electronic. I have looked at MD theory for many years but only actually got started into MDing a month or so ago with a Garrett Ace250. Right away the wife, kids and grandkids have gone crazy with it everytime we go out somewhere and I have had very little actual time on the the machine! I just picked up an old BH VLF/TR 840 at a hamfest yesterday (6/3) that seems to still work rather well. I need to learn to tune it better (thats how I discoverd this forum) Looks like a wonderful source of information and the members all seem so willing to help someone. I will be doing a lot of reading on here for a long time.

Welcome to the forum and the hobby. I have not been here as long as many of these people but I can say that not once have I seen a mean reply or just pointless post. (and I read nearly every post.) Once again, welcome.

Now I get it. I was wondering what the heck a hamfest was. Was thinking it was another word for flea market.

hehe - I knew what is was, but I've always pictured people walking around with big ham bones and wearing bacon jackets. Wouldn't that be lovely?
