Default Hi from South Carolina

Hi! I am Barbara. I'm originally from California but now living in South Carolina. I'm new to metal detecting but it is something I have always wanted to do. I am married to a more experienced treasure hunter, so between his advice and this site I hope to have a positive experience.

Barbara

Default Welcome

Glad to have you here. Just wondering if you enjoy the east coast and how you compare it to the west. I'm currently living in SoCal, but I'm originally from KY. We used to spend a week during the summer in FL and the ocean seems so much nicer over there.

Happy you finally dove into the hobby. I'm new as well, but used to go with my parents. LOVE IT!!!

HH

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I have been in South Carolina a little over 10 1/2 years now. We are just about 35 miles from Charlotte, NC. I like it but I do miss California. My family (including my daughter and 2 grandkids) are there and the weather there can't be beat. Most of the time I like the weather here but I can't take the high humidity. When I moved here someone told me that in South Carolina you don't breathe the air but you drink it. That's about right! We have made some great friends here though and the price of land and housing is so much lower than San Diego County.

My husband is from Ottumwa, Iowa and has been in South Carolina 5 1/2 years. I would never have thought I would do it, but we met on the computer. We have been married a little over 4 years now.

Pris, the ocean here is a little warmer than in California and the beach has sand. LOL The sand on the southern California beaches washes away because of the angle of the coast.

Bigbillinsc, maybe some day we could all get together to do some digging.

Barbara

Hey Barbara,

We must have been movin' cross country around the same time. I moved out here in August of 1996. Maybe we crossed paths.

Small world, huh?
