Hi Arnie, I am a Denver native now living in Aurora (borders Denver on East) and have been detecting for 39 years. I belong to four clubs that do detecting and/or prospecting along the front range and a Certified Field Agent with the Colorado Aviation Historical Society supporting their Aviation Archaeology Program.

Chuck is my dealer of choice and an exceptionally qualified detector dealer. I have worked many areas from the parks to indian battle grounds and ghost towns and mines. Chuck has the edge with water hunting, while I have been SCUBA certified since 1969, he has advanced to dive master levels and done a lot of underwater detecting as well. Chuck also does a lot of work at detecting at such places as stage stops as well as various locations across the country and made some exceptional historical finds.

I wasn't detecting when I lived there, but I think some places like Civic Center Park or War Memorial Park would be good starters, but I'd hit them very early on a Saturday or Sunday morning to avoid people. Generally, just about any of the older parks in the area should be good starters. I'd hit up cjoej for some good advice as he currently lives in the area.
