A detector for gold in NC would not be the best choice. Panning would be more the way to go there. I would get the Tiger Shark and use that if you are primarily hunting the beaches. This is a great detector for that purpose. If you are only going beach hunting a little bit then get a good land detector. How much are you looking to spend ? If you need more help please let me know or call me and I'll get you into the correct detector for your needs.
Thanks

Welcome Rodney,
Since you're in the western/south-central part of NC ( Cabarrus County North Carolina CVB : Hotels Attractions & Vacation Information ), I think you are more likely to want a land based detector (unless you plan to detect in NC's liquid sunshine). NC was the first gold rush in America and is basically in the extreem western portion of the state, so a general purpose detector is probably the most practical since panning and sluicing will be the most reasonable to search for gold with. Follow our dealer/sponsors advice and I think you will do well. The Tiger Shark is not limited to water use either. HH & SWC (Search With Care) Joe |
