Default New Family joining!

Several months ago my wife mentioned a couple of times interst in having a metal detector, so I surprised her with one on her birthday. She took it in the back yard and no kidding the first thing she found was a penny! The surprise then bounced back on me as my whole family has taken to it...

Last week we went (with permission) to a beautiful abandoned farm-stead near Foley, MO. The 20 acre plot overlooks the Missouri River valley, and the locals report a civil-war era foundation on the property. Needless to say we found the environment with tall thick grass hindering us from getting to what I thought might be the good spot, and we didn't find much. What we did find when we got home was a pile of ticks had nicely detected each of us, despite our liberal use of repellant. (We were up until 2AM clearing each other and the kids of those parasitic pests )

We are looking for our next adventure, and if we don't find anything, we sure get to see some neat, new place in our great land of freedom we are blessed to live in.

BTW

What kind of machine did you surprise your wife with?
I got her a 2000xd. She likes it, but since all four of us have been going out, she thinks we need another detector becasue it is a little slow for about 2 of the four of us if we're all together.

Hi and welcome. The sponsors are great here and I think that they are the best to buy from. Their customer service is second to none. Happy hunting.
