Default add us to the list of the addicted

hello everyone,

brand new to this site and fine hobby. like everyone here, i have dreams of the big finds. but just getting outside and doing something i enjoy is my primary goal. if i happen to recover some treasure along the way, all the better i'll be!

i live in the great state of michigan, within the metro detroit area. there's plenty of explorable places here to practice my new hobby. lakes, streams, beaches, parks, wood lots, old towns, militay battle grounds the list goes on. my only regret is we didn't gain more interest earlier in our lives.

i've been married to a wonderful woman for 13 years, and she to enjoys adventures as much as i. she's just a gitty as i am to enter the hobby.
maybe it's the thoughts of diamond rings and sparklly things. ha ha
really, she's pretty down to earth, and would be happy with a homemade pulltab necklace i made her. but that mood ring i bought her for our 10th annie, really does leave a big red mark on my forehead!!

we've both been researching forums and information to gain some knowledge and make your first detector purcheses. the weath of info contained here and other sites has been a great help. most if not all our questions have been answered, along with many other doors that were opened to the interesting avenues of artifacts, history, past cultures and societies, gemology, metalology and science in general.

our new hobby will be enjoyed by both of us as something we can do together or individually at our leasure. we would also like to join a local club after we gain some experience.

after some research we decided on a tesoro vaquero, an a tigershark unit to start out with. (i can see that big snowball starting to build, ha ha!) a call was placed with tony at t.c. detectors, that a friend recommended. i was very happy with the experience.

we're both actively awaiting our detectors to arrive. in fact my gal just called as i was typing this, and asked if it's christmas yet? funny she is!

anyway i just wanted to say hi to everyone and thanks for all the info provided here. in fact there's so much, we found just about all we needed to know without even posting any threads here. but after we get going i'm sure many more will follow.

looking forward to great finds and great times.
god bless and stay safe

dan & lynn
