Hey everyone, Im 16 years old and live in NW Chicago. For my last birthday i got a metal detector and back then I didn't know much about MDing, but I decided to read up more and get back into. A couple of days ago me and my friend took it took a park by myself and we found a nickel and a dime (both fairly recent) and an open pocket knife about 1" in the ground. Im glad we found it before someone really hurt themselves. Next ill probably try the grass strip by the street. This site seems pretty cool and ill post often.

O by way my MD is a Pioneer EX, dont know if it's good or not and im pretty sure my mom bought it at one of those super stores. So I doubt it would be that good.

Welcome to Treasure Quest ghos7man! You are off to a great start. Good luck finding more coins and keep posting your finds. You came to the best site to ask any questions you may have. I am sure you will be helping others in no time at all! Your detector is only as good as you make it out to be. Keep practicing and you will find tons of cool things!
