Default Hi Everyone

Hello,
Brand new to this hobby but I have been intresed for a number of years.
I really didn't have any money to spare so I scraped together a $100 and got a Discovery1100. Then a friend called and said he had a new in the box Bounty Hunter Tracker II that I could have. I am going to start tomorrow at some parks around my house. I know these are regarded as "toys" but I had to start somewhere. When I done with school and get to work I will certainly upgrade.
Now that I've rambled on I can't wait to swap some stories with everyone.
Brian

Hi and welcome. If you hunt the right places that have a lot of change you can probably buy that new detector sooner than you think.

Welcome to TQ!! As long as you get to know your machine, and it finds metal, that's all that matters. You never know, you might just love the BH so much that you won't want to upgrade right away... Lots of people on here use BHs, too. We're not snobby here, glad you are getting started. Wait 'til you start finding stuff!

Default save yer clad

any and all pocket change you find KEEP.... serach dates... anything b4 1965 keep... and some coins in 65 still had silver in em i cant remember which ones because it is 2 in the morning here. but place all that clad (post 64 coins) in a jar can or bank. it will amaze you how fast you can fill that jar up. save it all then cash it in.... you will pay for your new machine ine no time. and dont worry about your machine being a toy. it is a tool regardless of price. if it will find a coin at 3 inches you will find enough clad to upgrade to a more expensive model. lots of members have paid for their machines several times over with their finds. it just takes patience and the "way to carnegie hall"... parctice, practice, practice..... even an inexpensive detector will find a dropped coin on the play ground. and lots of coins get dropped.

good luck keep us informed of your finds and happy hunting.

Default hello

Welcome to TQ. Have a great time with your new machine. It does not matter how much you spend or even what kind of detector you use. It all about the great hobby. I believe I read on this forum The rarest gold coin was ever found, Was found by someone using a Radio Shack detector. Enjoy your new bounty hunter best of luck and have fun. Thats what it's all about.
