My two youngest went to South...now one is going to be a Junior at CASH and the other a freshman at CAIHS. Yep, very small world. Have you hunted Caln Elementary? I was thinking of trying Rainbow this weekend, though if schools are as popular as I hear, it's already been picked clean.

No, I have to admit I was so excited about hunting at the school that I never thought to ask for permission. (oops!) Right or wrong I look at the schools as public property - at least I consider Rainbow to be. We go to my mother-in-laws every Sunday and all the grandkids immediately run over to the school to play on the playground. I guess I figure that while school is out, the playground is for public use. Once school is back in session I'll probably give it a miss.
I did make it over there for a few minutes last Sunday - came up with thirty-seven cents. Not much, but as I said, I wasn't there long. It's filthy work digging in all that mulch. And I was a little disconcerted about some of the tones I was getting close to the edges of the equipment. I'm going to have to spend more time there and learn how to tune out the tones of the equipment so I don't confuse them with other tones. |

I like your logic on the schools! I'll just go, it is public property and people use the playgrounds and ball fields all the time, I'm convinced. I did plan on going out on Friday but I'm not sure where yet, but it's been about a month since I got out and I'm getting antsy.
I have a 5" coil for detecting close to steel equipment and I set my disc. to reject steel but still get some noise or at least a null. |
