Welcome to the forum, Jim !!! Wish I was going to be in the area, we would get out and search a bit.
But as it is, I am flying into Boston Friday evening ..............  We have been told no hunting at Lake Ray Roberts, if you are around that lake you may ask again. Lake Lewisville only has two parks open that I know, not sure about Lake Texoma. dan ..............

Welcome from Colorado....not sure how accurate this info is (I've never verified it) but I've been told that where the Texas welcome center is located on IH-35 (right at the stateline) used to be the site of a fairly large ranching operation and staging area for cattle drives going north...might be worth asking about - although I'm not sure what regulations pertain to MDing in a rest area...
