Talking Newbie from Galt Ca.

Hi My name Is Pat From Galt Ca. Just south of sacramento. I have recently purchased a Bounty Hunter-Fortune hunter. A friend at work turned me on to metal detecting and I've been out three times. Two parks and a local lake (Camanche), and have found coins at all three places. Nothing old, and no good jewelry yet but I think I,m hooked.
Can someone tell me how to add the "coin counter" I see on a lot of the posts?
I have never "hunted before and would like to brag a little. To date I have found 6-quarters, 2-dimes 1-nickel, 13-pennies, 1-bracelet (my wife says it's a cheap kids bracelet but it looks like thin silver to me), a broken piece of an anchor, and some other broken rusted boat parts I can't identify, A ton of pull caps, bottle caps, nails, and bobby pins. Whats up with the bobby pins at the parks?
Any advice on how I can tell if that bracelet is silver, or just junk??

The coin counter is a manual text entry in the user signature area of the "UserCP." Just highlight someone and cut and paste it into your signature, editting the numbers of course. Welcome and hope that helps. Peter

Welcome to TQ.
The best advice right now, is just keep practicing with your detector and learn the differnet sounds it makes. Looks like your off to a good start!!
