Hello all!!! I've been detecting since the spring. I don't have time to get out much, but I really enjoy the hobby. My best find to date is a 1908 IH penny. Otherwise, I've found some clad, a junk ring, lots of pulltabs, and some rusty relics. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and hiking. I also built my own website featuring outdoors and recreation in Warren County, Pennsylvania, because I love the outdoors.

I want to thank everyone for welcoming me to the forum. You all are great!!!
I also would like to know if anyone knows of resources for research. On the PA Ghost Towns forum(http://www.treasurequestxlt.com/comm...towns-15.html), for Warren County, Pa, it states that, in 1977, some hikers found part of a silver bar, weighing 2 lbs., near Sheffield, Pa. I have looked up old newspaper archives and found nothing. My internet searches have found nothing. Why am I so interested? I know the area VERY well, as I live nearby and frequent this area in hunting season. If I can confirm that the story is true, I know several places that would be prime for finding a cache'. It would just take lots of hiking to cover them all. I'd rather narrow down the possibilities, before I start devoting whole days to searching. |
