Default Brand new to detecting, have ordered new detector.....

Where to start...Have never used a detector yet, have been thinking about it for a couple years and now is the time...Will be taking early retirement and living in central Florida for 6 months fall through spring....Been reading some magazines and am amazed at what people find...Hoping to hook up with some of you through clubs etc to learn...Have ordered a Minelab Quattro after a lot of research, comes with a lot of extras [from kelly co] and a book on tips on how to better use it...Any ideas or tips would be appreciated!!!

Hi and welcome to TQ. Everyone here is helpful and I'm sure will chime in, so I'll only give you my 1.5 cents worth.

Take your time and dig everything until you have a good understanding of what's it's telling you. Patience and practice, the manual and book that you purchased will help, so read and understand them!

Hi and welcome. Remember that every day is a fresh start and some days are pulltabs and some days are silver dollars. Wishing you many silver dollars.

Welcome to TQ, the best darn MD forum anywhere. Don't get discouraged. It takes a while to learn what the detector is saying to ya.

Hey dbvettez06!! Welcome to TQ!!

Glad to know you'll be in Central Florida! This forum is a *great* place to get questions answered, so if you don't understand some of what you read or if you just wanna talk it over don't hesitate to ask! And if you ever need any local help, feel free to stop by Kellyco in Winter Springs!

I look forward to seein' you out and about, and hearin' about all the stuff you're diggin' up while I'm at work!! lol!! Goodluck!!
