Thanks for the kind words everyone.

BTW - i found my first coin today at a small neighborhood park, - about 4 inches down near some tree's, was a Susan B Anthony waiting for me.

This one is going in the memory books.

Smile Congratulations on your first find

SBA $1 is a good place to start. Your karma must be good if your coil is drawn to the right place.
The beaches are among the best places for treasures. Huntington Beach is a great one. There is so much beach that there is no way any MD treasure hunter can make a dent on it. Most MD activity is by the pier, so you should avoid the picked over area.
Laguna has slowed down a lot since the end of tourist season.
Doheney Beach is still hot, as is San Clemente (lots of nails there). Aliso Beach is pretty much untouched - it is tough because of the pier being torn down and the nails spread over the beach.
I haven't tried the fairgrounds yet, but if you could get permission for that the finds should be fantastic.
Lots of good stuff in Orange County to hunt.
Happy hunting, and good luck.
