Default New to the forum

Hello everyone. This is the first metal detecting forum that I have ever joined. I have been metal detecting for approx. 4 years now. I started with a Bounty Hunter Sharp Shooter II. I have not kept an official record of my finds, but I plan to start one. (Any advice on record-keeping is welcomed) My oldest coin so far is an 1832 large cent. I have found a number of mercury dimes, indian-heads, wheatbacks, and lots of clad.

My girlfriend recently purchased a Whites Matrix M6 for my birthday and I have only about 3-4 hours out with it so far. The M6 seems to be quite accurate in IDing, impressive depth, and pinpointing has been right on the money (so-to-speak). In the short time out with the M6, I dug a lot of trash (I dug everything since I am in the learning stage with it), a few clad coins, and a 1910 wheatback
I look forward to sharing this great hobby with you all and hope to post some great finds for you in the future. I am itching to dig up my first gold!
