Default Hello everybody from a Newbie

Hello,

I am Arizona Jack, coin collector and hot sauce mfr. from Phoenix AZ. My wife and I are planning on buying a pair of Whites MTX detectors this weekend at Promark Detecting, in Apache Junction AZ.

We have never done this, I just think they will be great fun and great excercise getting out of the house and camping/hiking/detecting our beautiful Arizona. My wife is excited that she will be able to actually get me off the couch on weekends.

Have I selected good beginner models? I do not want in a year to be wishing I had gotten a better model. I have been told they are perfect for us, and with practise will be great and long lasting.

Anyways, thanks for a great forum and I look forward to learning alot here.

Arizona Jack

Welcome to the site Jack! This is a great place with plenty of folks to help you.

The MXT is a very good machine. It will do all you need for a long time. You did well picking that one out. Looking foward to seeing pictures of your shots, Beale.

Welcome to Tresure Quest. I have found the XLT to be a wonderful machine but just like all the others you have to take some time to learn it. Thre are a lot of fine folks here to help you both along the way and like Pappy said, if you get your spouse on here with ya she will progress right along with ya. We are glad you are with us. JC

Welcome welcome!! TQ is awesome, as is this hobby and you're going to love it!! White's is a great great brand, and the MXT will be a great detector to grow into. That's the most important part - finding one that is good for you to start with but that gives you room to really grow into the hobby as you understand it more and more. So you did great!! Can't wait to see what you dig up!!
